Own Pace Outfitters

About Lee

Lee Greenwood leads Own Pace Outfitters and coordinates Havant’s Open DofE Centre, working directly with participants and centres delivering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It’s the most hands-on of his current DofE involvement, and the credential most directly relevant to what Own Pace Outfitters does.

His background is years of hands-on youth work, starting with Scouting and growing from there into a career built around one conviction: that structure, patience, and hands-on skill-building change lives — especially for young people the mainstream system too often fails. That conviction led him to found Independent Youth Volunteer Support (IYVS), the Community Interest Company that Own Pace Outfitters trades under, alongside its sibling programmes Zanshin Archery and Greenwood Bushcraft.

Lee is an accredited Archery GB instructor, and coaches Zanshin Archery directly — blending traditional instruction with Zen philosophy and breathwork for neurodivergent and deaf or hard-of-hearing young people. He also runs Greenwood Bushcraft, teaching wilderness skills to schools, youth groups, and corporate clients.

Across all of it, including at Own Pace Outfitters, the throughline is the same: patient, structured, confidence-building outdoor learning, delivered at a pace that works for the person in front of him.
